Nutritionally both of these diets claim to be "complete and balanced" for your dog.
However, these two diets achieve this AAFCO standard in two "completely" different ways.
The high heat process of making kibble destroys many of the naturally occurring nutrients
Also the use of meat by-products and fillers in many brands results in a sub-standard product.
To resolve these deficiencies kibble is re-injected with synthesized artificial nutrients, colors and flavors,
allowing it to then pass the AAFCO standard. Kibble does not need to be refrigerated and has a 1 year shelf-life.
Unlike kibble, raw diets attain the required nutrients naturally from raw meats and veggies.
Scientists have proved that naturally occurring nutrients are better absorbed by the body then synthetic ones.
Raw food must be refrigerated or frozen and handling precautions must be taken as with any raw meat.
Some raw foods use USDA approved ingredients and some do not, never assume, read the label.
Smaller health conscience companies are starting to produce this unique AAFCO "complete and balanced" diet.
Raw food is made into patties and cooked to a low temperature to eliminate any chance of bacteria contamination.
Cooked patties are safe to handle and yet still contain all the natural nutrition of a fresh raw food diet.
These patties contain no preservatives, added nutrients, colors or flavors, but do require refrigeration.
A few companies even use all USDA human grade foods, these patties cost more but are worth the investment.
Dollar for dollar you cannot find a better, more convenient, healthier diet for you dog!
